Questions and Answers:

Is Brookstone Still Around?

Brookstone was once a go-to retailer for unique gadgets and gifts, but it has fallen on hard times in recent years. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and was sold to a Chinese firm in 2019. Brookstone has since closed many of its stores, but it still operates a website and a handful of retail locations. Given the challenges it has faced, it’s uncertain whether Brookstone will be around for much longer.

How Much Does a Brookstone Massage Chair Weigh?

Brookstone massage chairs are some of the most popular on the market and for good reason. They provide a great massage at a reasonable price. But how much does one of these chairs weigh?

On average, a Brookstone massage chair weighs around 100 pounds. This can vary slightly depending on the model, but they are generally pretty close to this weight. So if you are looking for a massage chair that is portable and easy to move around, a Brookstone might not be the best option.

But if you don’t mind a little extra weight, a Brookstone massage chair can provide an excellent massage. Just make sure you have a good place to put it where it won’t be in the way.

How Much Should I Pay for a Good Massage Chair?

When considering the cost of a good massage chair, several factors come into play, making it essential to strike a balance between quality, features, and your budget. High-quality massage chairs can range from $1,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on their features and technology. To make an informed decision, it’s crucial to understand what you’re paying for and how various factors influence the price.

  1. Massage Techniques and Rollers: The type and number of massage techniques the chair offers significantly affect the price. Chairs with advanced rollers and techniques, such as Shiatsu or Thai massage, tend to cost more due to their intricate mechanisms.
  2. Number of Rollers: More rollers generally result in a better massage experience. Premium chairs often feature multiple rollers, which mimic human-like movements. Expect to pay more for this feature.
  3. Massage Track Length: The length of the massage track determines how much of your body the chair can cover. Longer tracks are usually more expensive as they provide a more comprehensive massage experience, reaching from your neck to your lower back or even down to your calves and feet.
  4. Airbags and Compression Massage: Chairs with airbags for compression massage, especially in the arms, legs, and feet, tend to be pricier. These airbags can enhance relaxation and improve blood circulation.
  5. Heat and Zero Gravity Features: Massage chairs with heating elements and zero gravity recline capabilities often come at a premium. Heat can help relax muscles, while zero gravity positions optimize the massage experience.
  6. Customization Options: Chairs that offer customizable massage programs, intensity levels, and body scan technology can be more expensive. These features ensure that the massage chair caters to your specific needs.
  7. Brand and Reputation: Established brands with a history of reliability and customer satisfaction tend to charge more for their products. You’re paying for the assurance of quality and customer support.
  8. Warranty and Durability: High-quality massage chairs often come with longer warranties, good customer service, reflecting the manufacturer’s confidence in their product’s durability. Expect to pay more for extended warranty coverage.
  9. Additional Features: Consider whether you want extras like Bluetooth speakers, USB ports, or a touchscreen control panel. These features can add to the overall cost.
  10. Size and Design: The chair’s size and aesthetics can influence the price. Compact, stylish designs might come at a premium compared to bulkier, more functional options.

In conclusion, the price of a good massage chair can vary significantly based on features, brand reputation, and technology. It’s essential to assess your specific needs and budget before making a purchase. Generally, expect to pay between $2,000 to $5,000 for a high-quality massage chair that offers a balance between features and affordability. However, if you require advanced features or have a more generous budget, investing in a massage chair in the $5,000 to $10,000 range could provide an even more luxurious and comprehensive massage experience. Ultimately, the right price for a good massage chair depends on your preferences and priorities.
