About the Company

Nichimu Inada was born on November 24, 1940, in Tottori Prefecture, Japan, in the Daisenji Temple in Daisen National Park. He is the youngest of five brothers. His parents ran an inn in Chugoku District when he was growing up, and Daisen was a popular tourist destination.

There were twelve spacious rooms in the inn, which was also next door to a souvenir shop, making it an ideal ryokan (Japanese-style hotel). In the early years of his life, young Nichimu helped his parents by watching the shop and serving customers. This was exactly the time when his business fundamentals were formed.

Business fundamentals were mastered by him with a high degree of independence During the 1960s, the economy grew rapidly but there was an understaffing problem. Youths from all over Japan used to be called “golden eggs,” and they were employed in large numbers in cities like Osaka and Tokyo as human resources.

In Osaka, Boy Nichimu got a job after graduating from a commercial high school. As an employee in charge of accounting work, he displayed skills because he had already passed the second qualification level bookkeeping test and the second qualification level abacus test in high school. A print machine manufacturer in Asahi-ku, Osaka, hired him as a new graduate.

This was a company with a long history and more than 150 employees at the time. However, it was a century-plus venerable manufacturer that went out of business several years ago. In Tottori Prefecture, Nichimu had been known for being a mischievous boy, but now he embodied the spirit of independence of Inada as a young boy. Inada worked diligently despite the fact that it was his first year as an accountant. He quickly learned how to settle accounts in one year, and the company realized his skill and promise.

His company allowed him to take charge of the manufacturing department after he had joined the company for only one year. He also worked in the materials department and worked in the sales department in his spare time. It was common at the time to do odd jobs as part of the “decchi (apprenticeship)”, however, Inada further challenged himself to do all sorts of things beyond these jobs. An 18 or 19-year-old boy would not normally be allowed to take on that much at his age after graduating from high school, but his seriousness might be admired and encouraged.

Family Inada Massage Chair Reviews

Inada VITA (HCP-VT200)

Using artificial intelligence, the massage operation is adjusted to optimal strength and duration based on the shape and size of the muscle of the person receiving it and the level of muscle stiffness at that time. During a massage, the speed of the rollers is adjusted according to the load received. Thus, stiffened areas are massaged deeply and slowly, and once unstiffened, they are massaged rhythmically. A double engine, upper and lower mechanism equipped with artificial intelligence delivers a massage that closely resembles that of a professional masseuse, using centripetal and centrifugal methods.

Therapina Robo

Therapina Robo Massage Chair, which offers highly lifelike massages using the latest advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), is the next best thing to a professional live-in masseuse.

Based on your body type and needs, a real massage therapist adjusts speed, intensity, and technique, and so does the Robo. In order to provide a lifelike massage that is tailored just for you and your body’s needs at that moment, the Robo uses AI to map out skeletal structure, detect shiatsu points, and sense the degree of muscle tension. It recognizes and remembers the unique settings and needs of every member of the family, 12 and older.

INADA Flex 3S (HCP-S373)

Inada YuMe

Featuring a standard S-Track, the YuMe Robo massage chair has good bones. With this, the chair’s quad rollers can move in three dimensions (X-, Y-, and Z-Axis), following the natural curve of your spine and ensuring a quality massage. 3D Body Scanning technology works in tandem with the S-Track and quad rollers to provide a superior massage experience.

By scanning your body before the massage begins, it adjusts the position of the rollers to ensure that all pressure points are hit. With the body scan feature, you can ensure that the rollers hit your sore spots for a more effective massage.

Questions and Answers

Where are Inada massage chairs made?

Inada massage chairs are made in Japan. The company has been making massage chairs for over 50 years, and they have a reputation for being some of the best quality chairs on the market. Inada massage chairs are available in a variety of different models, each with its own unique features and benefits. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing full-body massage or a targeted massage for specific areas, Inada has a chair that will suit your needs.

What is the Oldest Massage Chair Company?

The oldest massage chair company is “Family Inada,” also known as Inada Co., Ltd. Founded in 1962 by Nichimu Inada, this Japanese company holds the distinction of pioneering the development and production of massage chairs. Inada’s dedication to creating innovative and advanced massage technologies has solidified its reputation as a leader in the industry.

Inada’s journey began with the creation of the world’s first automatic shiatsu massage chair in 1962, a groundbreaking achievement that laid the foundation for modern massage chair technology. Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese massage technique that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to alleviate tension and promote relaxation. Inada’s incorporation of shiatsu principles into their chairs revolutionized the way people experienced massage at home.

Over the decades, Inada continued to refine and expand its product offerings, incorporating state-of-the-art features such as body scanning technology, air cell massage systems, and various massage techniques like kneading, tapping, and rolling. Their commitment to research and development has resulted in some of the most sophisticated and effective massage chairs available today.

Inada’s legacy extends beyond Japan, as they have exported their massage chairs to numerous countries, contributing to the global popularity of this relaxation technology. Their longevity and commitment to excellence make them the oldest and one of the most respected massage chair companies in the world. As the industry continues to evolve, Inada remains a stalwart presence, setting the standard for quality and innovation in the realm of massage chairs.

Which Country Makes the Best Massage Chairs?

The assessment of which country makes the best massage chairs is subjective and can vary depending on specific criteria and individual preferences. Different countries have made significant contributions to the development and manufacturing of massage chairs, each with its own strengths and innovations.

Japan is widely recognized as a pioneer and innovator in the massage chair industry. Japanese companies like Inada, Panasonic, and Fujiiryoki have a long history of producing high-quality massage chairs known for their precision engineering, advanced technology, and attention to detail. Japanese massage chairs often excel in replicating traditional massage techniques, such as shiatsu, with precision and authenticity.

On the other hand, China has emerged as a major player in the production of massage chairs, with numerous manufacturers producing a wide range of models. Chinese-made massage chairs often stand out for their affordability and accessibility. These chairs can offer a good balance between price and features, making them appealing to a broad audience.

The United States also has a presence in the massage chair market, with some manufacturers focusing on luxury and high-end models. American-made massage chairs are known for their innovative designs and incorporation of cutting-edge technology.

Ultimately, the “best” massage chair depends on individual preferences, budget, and the specific features and functions one is seeking. It’s advisable to consider factors such as massage technique, build quality, durability, and warranty when evaluating which country’s massage chairs align best with your needs and preferences. Conducting thorough research and trying out different models is essential to finding the ideal massage chair for your personal requirements.
